Granny,
This is a tough one but I’ll be alright. You were my person for all things scripture, prayer, and church. I’d tell people all the time - you may never hear me talk sports but now I can talk about some Jesus because that’s who my grandmother is. I was honored to share space with you before God called you home. I’ll never forget our last conversation:
I said to you - “Granny, it’s okay if you’re ready to go.”
In a sweet whisper you then said, “Where am I going?”
I replied, “You can go to Heaven.”
You looked towards my voice and said, “Heaven.”
And three days later that’s where you went. I’m not sure if that conversation brought peace to your life but I’m hopeful that it gave you something - whatever that something is. That being said, there is so much more I want to say but just know I am honored to have called you my grandmother and even more appreciative for your praying spirit.
In the words of Smokey Robinson, “I'll miss you, my buddy. I'll miss you, my friend. I promise my love for you will never end.”
