I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Cynthia for the past 20 years; and, over those years, Cynthia became like family to me. She watched both of my boys grow up from birth, and she would gush over them every time she saw them just like family would do. Cynthia was a good-hearted person and a caring soul - even if she disagreed with you, she would wish you well. I always looked forward to our chats, she would start off by singing my name, "oh, Laurie, Laurie, Laurie...," and her head would shake from side to side, as if to say no, no, no. Then she would laugh, and then I would giggle back at her. This is how we started almost every conversation! I always had to check in with CT to see what she was wearing. I called her the "office fashionista" since she could dress up a pair of scrubs with matching tennis shoes like no one else! I would always tell her how good she looked and she would jump out of her chair, put one hand behind her head, and the other on her hip and say, "you know I can't be wearing any old boring scrubs, Laurie!" and then she would flash that smile. CT was such an integral part of our office, a dedicated employee, and a friend to all of us, that we will forever feel a void not having her with us!
I have been told that CT will rest in a spot across the street from our office. It just so happens that my office window looks over the cemetery. Every morning when I come in, I intend to look out across the street, and check in with my friend - ask her how she is doing, and what she is wearing to make all of the other angels jealous!
My deepest condolences to Robert, Crystal, Chvonne, LaKesha, Phillip and the rest of Cynthia's beloved family. May you all find comfort in knowing how many lives were touched her beautiful soul.
