Wayne Yancey's Obituary
Wayne Emmett Yancey, 67, passed away Monday, May 12, 2015 in Mansfield, Texas.
There will be a small service and gathering Friday, May 15, 2015 at Mansfield Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.
Wayne was born to Nina and Emmett Yancey on September 17, 1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He moved from Clinton, Oklahoma to Grand Prairie, Texas at the age of 14 and graduated from South Grand Prairie High School. After high school, Wayne attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and has resided in the DFW his remaining life. He enjoyed bass fishing, having competed in many bass tournaments and was a fishing guide at Lake Fork, Texas. He also love bowling and before resigning, bowled a perfect game. Wayne worked many years at AAA Fiberglass and Tackle in Grand Prairie, a job he loved. He will be missed by his family and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Yancey and step-father, Paul Nelson.
Survivors: daughter, Michelle Alexander of Grapevine; mother, Nina Nelson of Mansfield; son, Les Pate and wife Melanie of Richland Hills, TX; daughters, Amy Bandringa and husband Michael of Keller, TX and Amanda Tufts of Fort Worth; brothers, Robert Nelson and wife Kay of Arlington, Keith Nelson and wife Terry of Colleyville and Eric Nelson and wife Cindy of Arlington. 10 grandchildren.
