Ssg. Joseph "joe" Amaral's Obituary
ARLINGTON -- SSG. Joseph "Joe" Amaral, Jr, US Army, Retired, age 83, was received into the hands of God, December 3, 2012.
Inurnment: 2pm Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with full military honors.
Joe was born October 20, 1929 to Joseph and Anna Amaral in Hilo, Hawaii. He lived in Hawaii until the age of 17 before enlisting into the US Army in 1945. He retired from the military at Fort Bliss in El Paso and started Atlas Roofing. He was a Master Mason 32nd Degree York Rite, a member of the Shriners, the American Legion, the Hawaiian Club and served as a deacon at Northgate Baptist Church in El Paso. He attended Pantego Bible Church for the past 10 years. Joe enjoyed antique shopping, crafting and music. His love for his family will forever be cherished by his children, grandchildren, brother, sister and extended family.

Survivors: daughters, Jo Baker and her husband Charlie of Pinehurst, TX, Karen Stevens and husband Michael and Lori Jones and her husband Terry both of Arlington; brother, Walter Amaral; sister, Dottie Amaral, grandchildren, Whitney Hurley, Matthew Roberts, Michelle Springs, and Wyatt Jones; 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
