Carl Grant Baldwin, Sr., 78, was received into the hands of God Monday, June 6, 2016 while at his Mansfield, TX home.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 6:00-8:00pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV, 3431 Coal Heritage Road, Bluefield, WV 24701. A memorial service, officiated by the Reverend Larry McAmis, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14 at 1:00pm at the Fundamental Christian Church, 460 Bypass, Asphalt Road, Princeton, WV 24701.
Carl was born April 5, 1938 in Tazewell, Virginia to Fred Kyle and Mary Ellen Baldwin. He married Violet Crockett 59 years ago, and they were best known for visiting the nursing homes in Bluefield and Princeton playing piano, guitar and singing and sharing God's Word for the residents. They also ministered in various churches in the area. Carl loved keeping busy working on cars and tinkering with things around the house. He had great love for God and family and recently moved to Mansfield, TX to be closer to his son. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Baldwin of Bluefield, VA.
Survivors: wife of 59 years, Violet M. Baldwin of Mansfield, TX; son, Carl Grant Baldwin, Jr. and wife Anne, of Mansfield, TX; daughter, Susan Baldwin of Bluefield, WV; sister, Carolyn Baldwin of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stauffer of Princeton, WV, Grant and Aaron Baldwin of Mansfield, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
