Homer Lee Lowry's Obituary
Homer Lee Lowry, 82, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at his home after losing the fight against cancer.
Visitation: 6pm to 8pm Tuesday at New World United Methodist Church, 2201 North Davis Drive, Arlington, 76012
Funeral Services: 1pm Wednesday at New World United Methodist Church.
Interment: 2:30 pm Wednesday at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
Homer, known by his friends as Lee, was born to Jessie and Leta Lowry, September 21, 1928 in Mounds, Illinois. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in research for 30 years. Lee was a 50-year Master Mason and former president of the Mohammed Shriners Arab Patrol. He was a 25 year charter member of the Lions Club. Lee was also a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church of East Peoria, Illinois and former trustee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He will be missed but not forgotten.
Survivors: wife of 57 years, Marilyn of Arlington; daughter, Terry Whaley and her husband Art of Colleyville; grandsons, Eric Volk and wife Colleen, Chris Volk and wife Deanna, and Brent Volk and wife Abby, and 2 great grandchildren.
