Lawrence Ward Bonk, 59, passed away May 28, 2011 in Arlington.

Lawrence was born August 19, 1951 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Thomas and Agnes Bonk. He was best known to his family and friends as a great lover of nature and was affectionately called a mountain man because of his love for the wilderness.
In his early years, he traveled across the United States many times as he learned about our great country experiencing life from the eyes of a free thinker and non conformist. He lived the many happenings of the 60's and attending Woodstock during his travels. He enjoyed his life, his friends and to the final years, his family to the fullest.
Lawrence's free spirited and loving ways will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William "Bill" and Thomas Bonk.
Survivors: son, William "Bill" Bonk of Arlington; grandsons, Kenneth Preslar of The Colony, Roger Staley of Venus, and William Bonk, Jr of Arlington; granddaughter, Chellsea Bonk of Arlington; brothers, Byron and Joe Bonk; sisters, Mary Ellen Zeremba, Carol Terrance, Kathy Bonk, and Peggy Poperowitz all of Pennsylvania.
