Gene Michael Donnelly's Obituary
Gene Michael Donnelly, 60, of Arlington, passed away January 31, 2012 while at Kindred Rehabilitation Center in Arlington.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Mansfield Funeral Home; 1556 W. Heritage Parkway, Mansfield.
Gene was born April 25, 1951 in Hope, Kansas to Joseph and Loretta Donnelly. Gene is best described as a hard and loyal worker having managed many diesel shops. He was formerly employed for Ryder for over 26 years and most recently employed with Primms Leasing Company. He enjoyed hunting quail and deer, being outdoors and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving father to his 3 daughters and was a softball coach for their little league team. He enjoyed farming, oldies music and was a CB Radio hobbyist who's handle was blue moon. He was a liver transplant recipient and battled kidney dialysis and Cancer. Gene quick witted humor and kind heart will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Donnelly.
Gene is survived by the mother of his children, Ruth Donnelly, daughters, Sheena Donnelly of Mansfield, Jenna Donnelly and Kelsey Donnelly both of Arlington; granddaughter, Zakirah Donnelly; grandsons, Zane Donnelly and Jayden Mancha all of Arlington; brother, John Donnelly of Elmo, Kansas; sister, Joanne Jahnke of Salina, Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
