Retired U.S. Navy Yeoman 2nd Class John E. Sonterre, 66, was received into the hands of God, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00am Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church; 500 E. Dallas Street; Mansfield, TX 76063.Interment will follow at 1:30pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with full military honors.John was born January 20, 1948 in Anoka Minnesota to Joseph and Clara Sonterre. He attended Anoka High School and enlisted in the US Navy after graduation. He retired from the US Naval Reserves in 1992 and has worked for New Thermo-Serv in Dallas for over 43 years. He was an avid bowler in his youth and enjoyed gardening, traveling, driving and spending time with his family. John will be deeply missed by his family and friends.Survivors: wife, Kim Sonterre of Mansfield, sons, James J. Sonterre and his wife Tanya of Lancaster and Joseph E. Sonterre of Mansfield; sister, Mary Ann Slyzuk and her husband Ken of Andover, MN; 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
