Rev. Doyle Whaley's Obituary
Rev. Doyle Whaley, 77, was received into the hands of God, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 while at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation: 6pm to 8pm Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, 428 West Church Street, Grand Prairie.
Homegoing Celebration: 11am Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment: 2pm Tuesday at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Doyle was born November 9, 1933 in Mound, Texas to Jessie and Vera Whaley. He was a 1966 graduate of the Bible Baptist Seminary and has served as a Missionary for over 42 years. Doyle was a veteran of the United States Navy and was formerly employed with Schlumberger as an Electrical Engineer. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and former Pastor of Flory Street Baptist Church in Fort Worth. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, being with his family and ministering to those in need. Doyle will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Arlington Baptist College.
Survivors: loving wife of 57 years, Wanda Whaley of Grand Prairie; sons, Arthur Whaley and his wife Terry of Colleyville, Charles Whaley of Mound, TX and Alan Whaley of Grand Prairie; daughter, Jeanene Mathews and her husband Jerry of Grand Prairie, brother, Gerald Whaley of Ft Worth, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
