Laura M. Schott's Obituary
Laura M. Schott, 83, was received into the hands of God, Monday, April 11, 2011 while surrounded by her loving family.
Celebration of Life: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church, 5301 Davis Boulevard, Fort Worth.
Interment will be 11:15am Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Laura was born to Robert and Laura Ausburn November 15, 1927 in Los Angeles, California. She met her husband William, while he was in the US Marine Corps, and they married September 16, 1946 in Orange County, CA. They lived for each other and carried on a wild passionate love affair their entire marriage. In 1969, William and Laura moved from Sioux City, Iowa to their new found home in Fort Worth. She was a longtime member of Davis Memorial United Methodist Church and had remained in her same bible study group for 17 years. She enjoyed sewing and was best described as a wonderful hugger, a very wise and amazing woman with a great sense of humor. Laura loved all kinds of music and her love for God ensures us she is dancing on the streets of gold. She was preceded in death by her son, James Schott; granddaughter, Stormie Lynn Schott and grandson, Chad Michael Schott.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Stormie Schott Bible Fund, c/o Morningstar Ministries, 3113 Louise St. Fort Worth, 76112 or the Alzheimer's Association.
Survivors: Husband of 64 years, William B. Schott of Haltom City; sons, Steven Schott and his wife Claudia of Lewisville; William Schott, Jr of Haltom City; Robert Schott and his wife Lark of Lakeside, TX; daughters, Mary Knowles and her husband Bryan of Richmond, VA; Kathy Ewing and her husband Kent of Lewisville and Jody Marcell and her husband Shawn of Gladwyne, PA; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
