Lon W. Helms' Obituary
Lon W. Helms, Jr., 82, passed away December 11, 2009 at his home. He was born in McAndrews, KY January 8, 1927 to the late Lon W. and Mary Helms. He pastored churches in Kentucky, Indiana and for several years filled in as a preacher in Arlington. He was also privileged to visit Haiti as a misionary and ministered to the natives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Frank and George Helms, and two sisters, Nora Charles and Irene Reed. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marvena, daughters, Lonna Helms of Hurst and Dee Helms of Arlington; sisters, Edith Scott of Hardy, KY, and Lida Hunt of Inez, KY. Memorial Service: 7pm Wednesday at Bible Missionary Church, 1508 E Mayfield Rd, Arlington.
