Jon Shirley, 59, passed from this life to the next, Thursday, July 28, 2011 while at his Fort Worth home. Jon's life will be celebrated on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11:00am at Creekwood Church, 260 North Miller Road, Mansfield. As Read Obituary
My prayers are with you during this time. Jon was a light in this world and I was honored to have been blessed by knowing him.
My condolences to Jon's family, friends and to his partner Doug. I know Jon will be greatly missed.
A quirky wit; a ready smile; Jon didn't know a stranger. His outgoing demeanor was engaging and he was quick to help if needed. I admired his love for animals and we had many lively discussions about their dogs, especially Tooter and his antics. I think Jon probably taught Tooter :-) Jon, I miss you.
We will miss Jon as friend and neightbor. He could always make you smile with a story or his observations of what the world was to him. He was always looking out for others and always willing to help others that needed help.
Although we will not be able to attend Jon's service on Aug. 1, Doug and I want to express our sympathies to Jon's family and friends. We enjoyed Jon's kindness, sense of humor and hearty laugh. He will be greatly missed.
My dearest Jon, I am going to miss your smiling face. You always made me laugh and smile, never a dull moment. Now you can tell all the Angels your stories and touch them as you did me. I love Jon and will miss you dearly. Cathy Chapman
