Penny Colleen Nix's Obituary
Penny Colleen Nix, widow of James Byron Nix, Sr., loving mother of 10 and dedicated grandmother of 22 passed away on December 23, 2012 at an Arlington hospital.
A visitation and family gathering will be held at Mansfield Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Burial will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 9am at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Penny Nix was born May 21, 1949 in Inglewood, California. Referred to as "the best Nana in the whole world" by her many grandchildren, Penny Nix was a generous loving mother and grandmother always there with a loving embrace, offering comfort to all around her. She enjoyed cooking for her family, reading, sewing and outdoor adventures. Penny was a longtime member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Penny is survived by her brother, Bob Batte'; sister, Suzane Treneer; children, Michael, Michelle, Robert, Jason, Sherrie, Vanesa, Heather, James Byron, Jr., Eden and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Jacob, Lillian, Joshua, Caitlyn, Emily, Michael, Julian, Matthew, Angel, Stephanie, Joseph, Erica, Zachery, James Chase, Layla, Byron, Natalie, Danielle, Craig, James Byron III, Holley, and Aubree.
Penny and James Nix spent 27 years of happiness in the flesh on this earth together and are now together again eternally in heaven. The foundation of our large family has been shaken to it's core by the loss of this extraordinary couple. Their lives will be celebrated, their memories will remain ever fresh in our minds ever anxious to reunite with them. Until We Meet Again.
