Marie Nixon's Obituary
Marie Nixon, 101, was united with her heavenly Father, Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Mansfield.
Visitation: 1pm to 6 Sunday, with the family receiving friends from 1pm to 3pm.
Funeral Service: 1pm Monday at Mansfield Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton.
Marie was born October 28 1911 in Kaufman, Texas to Walter and Ada Talbot. She resided in Coppell over 50 years, was a member of Sandy Lake Road Baptist Church and loved going to the Senior and Community Center to visit friends. In 2000, Marie moved to Mansfield to be closer to her family. She loved playing, Forty Two, bird watching, crafting, flowers and spending time with her best friend, Nola Foster, who preceded her in death. She was a loving and giving person who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Troy E. Nixon, Sr. of Coppell; sons, Troy, Jr. and Herbert Nixon; sons-in-law, Carl Strangi and Richard Howard; daughter-in-law, Billie Nixon.
Survivors: daughters, Charlotte Howard and Lockie Perry and her husband Lawrence, both of Mansfield, Helen Strangi of Dallas and Sandra Covington of DeSoto; sons, Hershel Nixon of Irving, Paul Nixon of Corpus Christi and Don Roberts of Plano; daughters-in-law, Shirley Nixon of Scurry, TX and Estiline Nixon of Mesquite; grandchildren, Jennifer, Robin, Bryson, Dathan and Amber; great-grandchildren, James, Jacob, Garrett, Brooklyn, Ethan, Savannah and Kalina
