H. Martin Lopez's Obituary
Hector Martin Lopez, 71, was received into the hands of God on April 17, 2015 while in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Martin was born February 3, 1944 in Raymondville, Texas to Martin and San Juana Lopez. He was a veteran of the US Army and served many years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Mater Dei Latin Mass Parish in Irving and the American Legion of Balch Springs. Martin had a great sense of humor and a very caring heart. He taught ESL classes and loved relaxing outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and three sisters.
Survivors: sons, Chris Owens and girlfriend Debra Anderson of Mansfield, Pete Lopez and wife Loren of Kennedale, Marcus Lopez and wife Jessica of Arlington; daughters, Jany Lopez and fiancée Joe Salazar of Grand Prairie, Susan Lopez-Berenji and husband Mohammad of Arlington, Pat Lopez of Grand Prairie; sister, Lollie Rubio and husband Miguel of Balch Springs; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Martin Lopez Funeral Fund.
Visitation for family and friends will begin on Tuesday at 1:00pm at Mansfield Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm that evening.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00am at Mater Dei Latin Mass Parish; 2030 TX-356, Irving, TX 75060.
Burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
