Betty June Dorn's Obituary
Betty June Dorn, 79, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 while at home surrounded by her loving family. Private services are being held at a later date.
Betty led a life of travel and adventure. From her initial home in California, moves to Connecticut and finally Texas, exposed her to varied lifestyles in the US. She also lived for extended periods in Paris, London, Stuttgart and Sidney, Australia, always maintaining a US home for her return She travelled extensively from her US and overseas bases to find new experiences in such places as Kenya, Morocco and Russia.
Betty was an avid tennis player and she used this interest and talent to make friends in every place she lived. Parkinson’s disease ultimately brought her tennis and her overseas adventures to an end, but she continued a very active life despite the twenty year progression of the disease.
Survivors: husband of 59 years, Robert Dorn; daughter, Laurie Walkenhorst and her husband Michael; granddaughters, Amy and Kristen Walkenhorst all of Arlington; grandsons, Chandler and Conner White of Plano and sister Mary Ritchie of Pomona, CA.
