George was born September 17, 1927 in Daugherty, TX to the late George Monrow and Polly Ann Turnipseed. He was employed over the years by Bell Helicopter, Country Kitchen, and was a truck driver for over 41 years. His most recent and favorite job was a tour bus driver throughout the New England states. George served his country in the Air Corp from 1946 through 1949. He was proficient in weapons and vehicle repair. George always had a fascination with vehicles and anything on wheels. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and did so until the age of 82, selling it just a month before moving back to Texas from Maine. George liked to be active and he had no use for television. He enjoyed ocean fishing on his boat. He joined a Harley riding club and was awarded a trophy for being the oldest member of the group; an award he was proud to share. He loved bluegrass music and would always carry his hand-carved wooden spoons to be able to throw down whenever asked to play along. His hobbies were many. He enjoyed all types of wood working, from making things with his hands to wood burning. He could make just about anything with wood. He loved the road, because he loved to travel and see the great Country he served. He lived his life to the fullest.
