Dorothy Jane Hawkins Wills, 85, of Denton, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Irving. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Breckenridge Cemetery in Breckenridge, Texas.Dorothy's life will be celebrated on July 2, 2016 at Friendship Church in Denton, Texas.Dorothy was born December 2, 1930 to Susie and Felix Hawkins. She was a retired telephone operator having worked for General Telephone and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. She resided in Denton from July '79 to 2013. Dorothy was known for being very personable and quick-witted. She believed in the importance of family bonds and loved spending quality time with her grandchildren, sewing and crocheting. She was a deeply spiritual person and her overflowing faith led many people to Christ. Dorothy will be deeply missed and always loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, L.J. Hawkins and sister-in-law, Sammye Hawkins; nephews, L. J. "Joey" Hawkins, Jr., Danny Wood; Niece, Mary Kent and great grandson, George Foster.Survivors: daughters, Martha Garza of Denton and Sarah Miller of Mansfield, TX; sister, Betty Walker of Mansfield, LA; granddaughters, Abigail Brannon of Little Elm, Pam Miller (Alan Farmer) of Denton and Alicia Foster (Robert) of Denton; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Carson, and Collier Brannon, Joss and Dean Miller; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
