Ahmad Malik Williams-Strickland's Obituary
Ahmad Malik Williams-Strickland came into this earthly realm on March 20, 1993 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Riverview Gardens High School where he met and became friends with one of his closest lifelong friends and confidants, Javonte Earl Washington. Together they launched their journey into manhood by attending college at Philander Smith University in Little Rock, Arkansas in the fall semester of 2012.
While attending Philander Smith, Ahmad focused on studies in the school of social work while embracing personal responsibility of service on campus and beyond campus in community service pursuits. His natural inclination to serve led him to the desire to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Incorporated, Beta Chi chapter, “7 Guardians of Duat”, Fall 2014.
Ahmad served his fraternity faithfully as a brother of dedicated service, scholarship, good character, and displaying uplift to all in our community.
He will be remembered as a man who loved his family deeply always seeking to maintain, restore and lift the bonds of spiritual and earthly connections. He is embraced by all who know him for his steadfast will, deep passion, loyalty, humor, generosity, and knowledge. He made those around him feel motivated, accountable, and unburdened.
His fraternity brothers characterized Ahmad in this straightforward passionate statement: “Ahmad, cherished God, his family, and dear friends. He loved and enriched every community in which he lived.”
Ahmad left this earthly realm on December 13, 2025. He shared his life with the kind, compassionate, and brilliant Rosina Amenebede his dearest friend and the mother of their beautiful daughter Yashaya (YaYa). They will miss him dearly. He is survived by his father, Sean Anthony (St. Louis, Mo.). Proceeding him in 2003 is his mother Che’Ree Shaun’ta Williams who greeted Ahmad at the cross-roads. He is survived by his sister Faith Williams-Strickland, his brother Isaiah Williams-Strickland and nieces, his sister Love Proudie of St. Louis who share deep sadness in the loss of a son, a brother and an uncle who was the embodiment of kindness and love. He departs the company of “Ice Cold” brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Beta Chi Chapter, 7 Guardians of Duat as he enters Omega Chapter. Ahmad leaves behind a number of community alliances that embraced him as family, Brother Muhammad Rasheed, Sister Stacy Rasheed, the members of the New Africa Alliance, the John Cain Foundation, friend and former classmates of Philander Smith University, and without a doubt assisted in building the team at the Commerce Community Garden from the first day he stepped foot on the campus of Philander Smith University in 2012.
