This is the one year anniversary of Bernard's death. It still hurts. We were friends for over forty years. Young men when we met,maybe wiser when he passed. We were friends tighter than most. I would share some stories, but the statute of limitations may not be up.Rest well, my best friend!
Bernie aka Dipper,we grew up in a small town in Pa. call Yeadon. Everybody knew each other,we was family. We played a lot of basketball together,party,cookout and had so many good times. After Yeadon High School, Dipper join the Navy and travel the world. He always call or stop thru his hometown and share his stories.Thank you for being a friend to our homeboy may God continue to bless the family, RIP Bernie,he love Phila 76ers and Eagles .Miss you already bro

I met Bernard the day he came to interview with U.S. Customs and the San Ysidro Port of Entry in 1996. We have been every since that day and he will be truly missed. He was not just a co-worker he was like a Big Brother to me. God Bless. Darrell L Watson
Bernard “Burning Bush” Smith and go back before he joined the Navy. He lived with my family when he first joined the Navy. He taught me all about stereo components and how to take care and preserve your music collection. He will be sadly missed.
Bernard, or Nard as his friends called him, has been a dear friend for many years. As you can imagine, there were good times and bad. However, the good times outweighed the bad by far. Some milestones were his retirement from the U.S. Navy, the passing of his first wife, Serena, his move from California to Texas, camping and barbecues, just to name a few. There were a lot of get togethers just to hang out. It's called life and Nard lived a good and full one. Every one that ever knew Nard will miss him, including me. Rest easy my friend.
