Bobbie Joy Robinson's Obituary
Bobbie Joy Robinson, born on September 4, 1937, to the late Horace G., Sr., and Joe Ella Hardaway, gained her wings on November 3, 2024, at the age of 87. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was marked by service, love, and dedication.
Bobbie grew up in Rusk, Texas, where she attended public school and graduated from Emmett Scott High School. Her passion for helping others led her to Prairie View A&M University, where she studied nursing. After completing her studies, she began her nursing career at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, where she served with compassion and care for many years.
In 1960, Bobbie married Howard C. Robinson Sr., and together they had two children, Howard C. Robinson, Jr., and Tyrra Denise Robinson. Bobbie’s greatest joy was her family and she worked tirelessly to provide for them while instilling in them the values of hard work, faith, and kindness.
In addition to her family, Bobbie was an avid reader, always seeking knowledge and enjoying the escape that books provided. She found peace and inspiration in the written word.
In 1985, Bobbie moved to Arlington, Texas, where she began a new chapter in her career as a phone
operator for AT&T. After 25 years of dedicated service, she retired, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and commitment.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Joe Ella Hardeway, and her siblings, Jack,
Lois, Helen, Horace, Jr., Curtis, Doris and Carol; and her daughter-in-law, Bebe Ann Robinson.
She is survived by her son, Howard C. Robinson (Boo), and daughter, Tyrra D. Robinson, along with her grandchildren: Howard C. Robinson (Trey), Roderick and Brittany (Robinson) Glover, and Bianca
Robinson. Bobbie was also a proud great-grandmother to Sir Brown, Cherish Brown, Maximus Glover,
Genesis Glover, and Phoenix Glover. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, including Debra and Clifton Miles, Latasha Beal, Jason and Shimika Palmer, Clifford Miles, Michael
and Shawndra (Robinson) Young, Tyra (Robinson) Jackson, Tyrance and Amber (Robinson) Richardson,
and Errol Jackson.
Bobbie Joy Robinson’s legacy of love, faith, resilience, and the joy of reading will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a woman of strength, grace, and kindness, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.
