Brockne "Brock" Jones' Obituary
Brockne Montrel Jones was born on July 23, 1985 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. From the very beginning, Brock captivated the hearts of his parents JC and Gale Jones and stole the limelight from his older sister Michelle – but she loved him just as much! Much like his father, Brock never met a stranger! His parents instilled in him the importance of trusting God, keeping family first, and “Puttin’ in Work!” His beaming personality, zest for life, and relatability made it easy to build lasting friendships. From football to track and field, Brock shined and excelled in everything he did while attending Pittsburg High School. Even with his personal successes, his true calling and commitment was to bring out the best in others. Brock was also a big dreamer! The “Dream” inside of his heart was bigger and broader than the city limits of Pittsburg, TX, so after graduating in 2003 Brock set out to find a place where “Nothing’s Impossible.”
Brock moved to Houston to attend Prairie View A&M where he made lifelong friendships that grew into a brotherhood that he valued and cherished deeply. During that time, he met his “Queen” Dominique and the two were married within 9 months. Dominique’s walk with the Lord inspired him to “Slow Down” and “Swerve” into the lane that God was setting before him, which eventually led them to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to continue their Kingdom building. Brock and Dominique have a passionate, purpose-filled marriage that inspires many. They overcame many obstacles and hardships, including the loss of a child but it taught them to be “Battle Ready” for the Kingdom work that was ahead.
Once the “Struggle Was Over,” God unlocked Brock’s call to minister to the masses. Though his musical talents were not evident in his early years, Brock was commissioned by the Father to use his unique blend of talents to empower people to unlock their God-given potential, experience a limitless life, and leave an impactful legacy. It was through the “Pressure” and struggles of life that God birthed the vision for ASAINT Music in 2011, where God called Brock to be a “Pushaman,” dealing hope and delivering culturally-relevant music that sparks transformation in the heart of the next generation. His “Psalms of Life” overflowed with messages of purpose and “Freedom,” challenging us to build our lives upon the foundation of “Jesus (the) Rockstar.”
Over his 14 year career as an independent artist, God used him to “Light Up” stages across Texas, the US and even internationally in South Korea, the Philippines, and Honduras. Brock had the honor of sharing the stage with R&B legends like Tony! Toni Toné, hip hop giants like Social Club Misfits, Bizzle, Bryan Trejo, and rock veterans like Seventh Day Slumber, Disciple, Manic Drive, and Spoken. His greatest joy was leading worship and helping churches tap into a more freedom in their worship expressions. Brock selflessly shared his God-given talents and had the opportunity to have a global impact through his music. In 2022, he commemorated a decade of music with his memorable ASAINT Decade Concert in Arlington, TX, the “American Dream City” where he and his family reside and he was honored as member of the 2023 Top 40 Under 40 community leaders.
Brock, like many, struggled to find his purpose in life in his early years. This fueled his passion to develop a deeper connection with God and to begin serving his community through mentorship and volunteering. His strong leadership skills and ability to relate to young adults, paved the way for his mission to impact young adults through his ministry work. In 2013, Brock and Dominique co-founded the TransformUs Movement, a grassroots nonprofit that helps young adults discover and live out their purpose while empowering churches and community leaders to create spaces for them to contribute their gifts and talents toward lasting transformation and change.
Their 16-year marriage was one marked by passion, purpose, and unconditional love. From their beautiful union, they birthed four exceptional children. Brock’s immense love for his family was so evident in how he served selflessly, sacrificially, and consistently. He epitomized the biblical model of how a husband should love his wife as Christ loves the church, laying down his life for her daily, in both word and deed. He spent intentional time daily with his children, playing with them, teaching them life skills, speaking life over them, and equipping them to live out their faith boldly and authentically. Brock’s commitment to selfless service at home overflowed into everything that he did in ministry and as a community leader. From the 100+ couples that they’ve poured into with their “Relentless Love” story to the youth and young adults that Brock inspired through his motivational speeches.
His passion for equipping the next generation and building strong familes is awe inspiring! Brock was a man after God’s own heart who lived, moved, and had his being from the secret place of the Most High. Brock led by example, living a purposed-filled life that was poured out as a living sacrifice for the “Glory” of God.
On April 9, 2025, Brock gained his heavenly crown and has joined his father JC Jones, his daughter Moriah Jones, his mother in law Shelia Dalcour Colbert, his grandparents Abb and Louise Davis and all of whom welcomed him with open arms in heaven. Brock leaves behind a beautiful legacy; his wife Dominique Jones, his son Savion Jones and two daughters, Saniyah and Chloe, his mother Gale Jones, his bonus dad Richard Ivory, his sister Michelle (Larry) Hatcher, niece Layla Hatcher and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles whom he loves dearly.
Brock's tree of life is still firmly planted by streams of living water, and we can rest assured that though his race is complete, his leaves will never wither! His wife, children, and all those every life that he touched are the fruit, and his legacy and impact will continue to live on forever. Brock loved unconditionally, worshipped spontaneously, and led intentionally, leaving us with a “Beautiful Testimony” and “10,000 Reasons” to “Celebrate” the faithfulness of God. He finished well, this young king has received the crown, and he deserves to enjoy eternal rest and never-ending worship in heaven!
