Mr. Bruce Bradley Sistrunk's Obituary
Bruce Bradley Sistrunk passed away December 7, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born on August 16, 1955 in Dallas, TX to Brad and Evelyn Sistrunk, the first of three sons and a daughter. He grew up in Oak Cliff, and during his years at Carter High School he played drums in the marching band and studied Judo, earning a brown belt. A graduate of Control Data Institute, he worked in the field of Information Technology for 37 years, 27 of which were with BNSF Railroad, from which he retired in 2023. He married his beloved Claudia Mayberry on September 4, 1999 and they raised her beautiful daughter, April, together. He loved his extended family, taking all the children on vacations each Spring. He enjoyed photography, reading and writing poetry, and was an avid sports fan, closely following the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. Bruce was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his former wife, Claudia Mayberry, daughter April Roberts, brother Wayne Sistrunk, and sister Mary Milan. He is preceded in death by brother Paul Sistrunk and parents, Brad and Evelyn Sistrunk. A memorial service will be held at Mansfield Funeral Home on December 12 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any of his favorite charities: Union Gospel Mission, Wounded Warriors or Habitat for Humanity.
