Carolyn Sumbler Samms

I remember Carolyn when we’re students at Dillard University. I used to call her “lil bit”. She always had a beautiful big smile on her face and always was friendly to everyone she met! The one thing that I remember about Carolyn was that she loved to play the card game called “spades”! Sometimes we will be partners. I was a newbie to the game but she taught me how to play the game! We both loved it when we beat our opponents!
My prayers and deepest sympathy goes out to her family!

Just learning of Carolyn’s death. My sincere condolences to the Samms and Sumbler families. Carolyn and I were friends, while students at Dillard University. Carolyn and I would take the bus, on Saturdays, to visit her Mother, when she was a patient at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She invited me to be in her wedding. However, I couldn’t make the trip from Georgia at the time. As we grew older and went our separate ways, she remained in my heart because she was such a sweet person. RIP CAROLYN.

She was a great educator with a beautiful spirit. I remember her helping me when my 5 Year old daughter was having a rough time in school.
