Charles Edward Hatch's Obituary
Charles Edward Hatch was born July 11, 1945 in Elgin, Texas to the union of Archie Hatch and Ruby McGregor Hatch. Charles passed away on August 12, 2023, at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas.
Charles confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Reverend Mackey at Lakeview Baptist Church in Eglin, Texas. He remained a member throughout his formative years.
Charles grew up in Elgin, Texas where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 22 years. He was the recipient of the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Longevity Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon.
After retirement from the United States Air Force he began working for GSA where he retired after 22 years.
On May 6,1968 Charles married Velma Lee Calahan. To this union, one child was born.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Ruby McGregor Hatch, and brothers John and William Hatch
Charles is survived by his spouse Velma Lee Hatch of Fort Worth, Texas; his children, Phyllis Calahan of Fort Worth, Texas; Curtis Calahan of Fort Worth, Texas; Jackie Jones of Fort Worth, Texas; John Sims of Fort Worth, Texas and DeVona Hatch George (Leonard, Sr.) of Mansfield, TX; Sisters, Darlyne Spencer of Dallas, Texas; Ora L. Arnold of Pflugerville, Texas; Vernell Everett (Lewis) of San Antonio, Texas; Clyde D. Hatch of Austin, Texas and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
