Craig Leonard Benson's Obituary
Craig Leonard Benson, 68, born September 22, 1951 to Leonard and Carol Benson, passed away on February 13, 2020 in Arlington, Texas. He was the oldest of five children, born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1964, his family moved to Brazil for a church service mission for 3 years where his father supervised the building of two chapels. Craig’s missionary experience with his family prepared him to serve his own mission to Brazil in 1970. Craig married Susan Walker in 1974; they divorced in 2001. He loved music and movies and owned a large collection that filled his rooms from floor to ceiling. In the last decades of his life, he enjoyed serving in various callings and participating in gospel discussions at his congregation in Arlington, Texas. Preceded in death by parents, two sisters, Sheri Benson and Shauna Putnam, and brother, Bradley Benson. Survived by three and eight grandchildren.
