Cramon Alan "Al" Myers' Obituary
Cramon Alan Myers was born February 13, 1970, to Cramon J. Myers and Lois Faye Dillard Myers in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the youngest of 4 children.
As a youth, Cramon Alan Myers attended Indianapolis Public #86 and Crooked Creek Elementary schools. While in school, his friends began calling him “Big Al” due to his size and strength. He graduated in the class of 1988 from North Central High School where he competed in track and field. He was a star player and lettered in football for North Central “Black Panthers”. He continued his education at Indiana State University to study Physical Education. He was recruited to play football by Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Illinois and then later, for Knoxville College (HBCU) in Knoxville, Tennessee where he studied Kinesiology while also playing semi-pro football. He completed an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technology from ITT Technical Institute in Richardson, Texas.
Alan’s love of sports began when he played T-ball at the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, and he grew to be one of the biggest fans for the Indianapolis Colts. Alan was an avid traveler and sports enthusiast.
Cramon Alan Myers accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was baptized at Second Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church, Indianapolis, Indiana (currently known as Light of the World Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church). Alan served as part of the Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF), the Tribe of Benjamin Choir, and participated in other activities as an adolescent and teenager. He also served at the state and national levels for the Disciples of Christ General Youth Council.
Alan has always been faithful in church and his love for our Pastor and members of Life-Changing Faith Christian Fellowship in Frisco, Texas. He was one of the first members to join the church, significantly participated in the growth of the church, as well as serving faithfully in our church as our Pastor's Armor Bearer and the leader of our Bus Ministry. He especially loved to serve the senior woman’s fellowship (WOW) and the youth.
For many years, Alan was an 18-wheeler Over-The-Road truck driver (following in the footsteps of his late Uncle Elijah Dillard). For the last 10 years of his life, Alan worked full-time as a proud employee for Fortress Solutions (a technology solutions and repair services company) in Plano, Texas where he gratefully received the Employee of Year Award in 2021.
