David Newton Cunningham age 66, of Mansfield, TX passed away Monday, July 15, 2019. He passed suddenly while recovering from a surgery at Arlington Memorial. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Cunningham; his daughter, Jennifer Read Obituary
David and I shared our lunchtime together at P&W FL for many years. We were engineering colleagues in the same technical group. I admired his diverse skill set. Dave was an exceptional engineer, with to many skills to mention. He also had a great sense of humor and always mentioned his loving family. I miss Dave and always will. I wish only the best for his loving family that will carry his memory for years to come.

I am not sure if and what I should share. David and I were friends back in the 1970s and 1980s. Back then I lived on a lake in Champaign and I talked Dave into getting his scuba
certificate. He went wild with that. Let me see what others have said and maybe I will write a few bits. Either about the time David almost got arrested for murder or the time he made me take care of his two alligators all summer while he was gone. cheers Glenn Taylor
I worked with David for at least 10 years at Pratt & Whitney Florida. David was a great Engineer in the MPE Joining and Forging Group , and friend, I always heard how well he was thought of at Pratt & Whitney , DARO ,where he relocated even from where I was at Delta Air Lines, Atlanta. Great engineers are well known throughout the industry.
He always did a detailed and scientific approach to his projects, and many of them were complex and challenging. I always realized his strong dedication and love of his family as he mentioned them all the time. He was very popular, and always had a great whimsical line - probably daily , and we all enjoyed this wonderful sense of humor.
David will be missed by his friends and colleagues and the Aerospace Industry. My condolences to his family, and my family extends our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

I had the pleasure of working with David for several years. His calm professionalism and judgement contributed much to our organization. He was a devoted family man and friend and he will be missed by all.
I had the pleasure of being David's supervisor for several years at Pratt & Whitney. David was a complete joy to work with, and his devotion to his family was very evident - he spoke often of them at work. David had a real passion for crafting spread sheet and database solutions that were enabling for the work in his group. The tools he created will help aircraft fly safely for many year to come. My deepest condolences to David's family for this unexpected loss.
I am grateful for the opportunity to know David. I worked with him for several years at Pratt & Whitney in Florida. David was a good man and a good engineer. My sincere condolences to the family.
