Well, it’s been almost a week without my friend.
I was thinking this morning, with all those family and friends fixing to show up for him that he probably has some good BBQ brisket cooking in heaven.
Dee was so proud and picky about his BBQ!
Someone better be making his famous banana pudding.. never mind they can’t make it as good as Dee, and he would tell you that! He also wants a buttermilk pie.
Dee had such a huge generous heart for people, I guess he gave so much of it his big ol heart just gave out. He loved to talk about how smart his kids were and how he kept them in line. He was proud of his brothers success with the “chicken lady” talking her into letting his brother open up a Henderson’s franchise. His uncle in New York, his beautiful classmates he went on strict diets for, so he could “look good” on their upcoming reunion vacations. He loved everyone, especially his Mom.
He and Berkita did an excellent job of co parenting, he respected her and in 20 years, I never heard him say a bad word about anybody.
Well, maybe a few Monday morning football plays, or draft picks, but that doesn’t count!
Dee was so smart about everything.. real estate, cars, life. He was soo funny and had so many plans for his future. He wasn’t done. I’m sad for him that he will miss Kami ‘s future wedding day and Dee 11 future successes. He earned that. I don’t believe God knows when your time is done.
But in the end it doesn’t really matter how Dee died, it matters how he LIVED.
He is well kept in the arms of God and we are all better people for knowing him and laughing with him and loving him.
Miss you “big head”
