Denise Marie Wheeler's Obituary
Denise Marie Wheeler, wife, mother, and grandmother, 78, of Arlington, TX passed away at Medical City Arlington on Friday, April 26, 2024, leaving a void that her family cannot fill.
She was born in Newark, NJ in 1945 to the late James and Sadie Campbell. She was a twin and older by 25 minutes. Denise, a product of the Newark Public Schools graduated from South Side High School. Upon graduation, she attended clerical school to gain employment prior to becoming a military wife and travel with her husband.
Denise was a lifetime student to ensure that she was the best in whatever position she held. When her family's return to the States in the early 1980s, she attended Mohawk valley Community College which was the stepping stone to her career working with the children as a teacher's assistant. Later becoming a teacher's assistant for students with special needs. It would be her job and training at Newark International Airport, just prior to making Texas her home, that would start a career the airlines that would lead to her retiring with American Airlines.
She took great joy in her two passions...bowling and bingo. She made sure to pass those same passion down to her daughters all while teaching then to have faith and trust in God first above all things.
Denise was proceeded in death by her parents, James and Sadie Campbell; and two siblings, Diane Johnson and Stephanie Eady. She is survived by her husband, Roger Wheeler, and two daughters Francesca (Bryce) Wheeler-Dick of Portales, NM and Luciana Wheeler of Newark, NJ. Four siblings Bernice Fitzpatrick of Newark, NJ, Frances Eady of Irvington NJ, Randy (Patricia) Austell, GA and Yolanda Eady of Elizabeth NJ. Two grandchildren Andre Mosley and Dommonique Wheeler; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousin and close family & friends.
