Mrs Erbie Ree Ward's Obituary
Erbie Ward is a Native of Fort Worth, Texas. Where she resided until her death. Erbie was the 8th child out of 10 to the proud parents of Elijah Thomas and Versie Thomas. At an early age she left home to begin her career and start a family. She was employed by Texas Christian University for over 10 years and FWISD & HEBISD for over 45 years combined. Where she retired from Stonegate Elementary (HEB). Erbie was a devoted mother and Christian. She joined Full Gospel Holy Temple in 1978 under the leadership of Rev. A.W. Holland and First Lady Pearline Holland. She served as an Usher and Choir Member for over 32 years. Within her life she soon met and married W.L. Ward, Sr. and became a widow after 49 years of marriage. Erbie was loved by many, and they will cherish her memories, she will truly be missed but not forgotten.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Versie Thomas, Father, Elijah Thomas, Sisters Lovie Taylor (Versie Taylor “Niece”), Evelyn Williams, Brothers Elijah Thomas Jr, Ervie Lee Thomas, Billy Carl Thomas, and William Thomas.
To cherish her memories, she leaves behind: Sons, Glenn Thomas, David Overton, W.L. Ward, Jr all of Fort Worth, Daughter, Sonya Taylor (husband Ducky Taylor); Tonya Ward of Fort Worth, Texas. Devoted Grandmother to: Alishia Thomas, Montreal Williams, Jazzmyne Higgins, Sanai Coleman, Jacob Ward, T’morrow-Lynn Overton, and Bryce Ward of Fort Worth, Texas. Devoted Great Grandmother (Gran-Gran) to London McCurin, Chyna McCurin, Paryss, Spencer of Fort Worth, Texas, Devoted Great Great Grandmother to Heavenn S’imone Johnson of Fort Worth, Tx., Brothers, Roosevelt Thomas of Fort Worth, Tx. Raymond Thomas of Dallas, Tx, and Eugene Thomas of Houston, Tx and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends
