Mr. Eric Eugene Wood's Obituary
Eric Eugene Wood, 89, of Mansfield, passed away on January 13, 2024, in Mansfield, Texas.
Eric was born in Bellingham, WA to Erick Eugene Wood and Elsie Marie Kindlund Wood on January 30, 1934. He went to school at Bellingham High School. He married Ann Adel Byron on December 23, 1956, in Seattle, WA. He graduated from Washington State University. He worked as a teacher for the Birdville School District for 19 years. He was a veteran of Korea and served in the Army. He was involved in the Boy Scouts achieving Eagle Scout status and was later a Scoutmaster and served in the Methodist church as a trustee. He loved to golf, dance, play Mexican Train, and watch the Cowboys.
Eric is preceded in death by his father Erick Eugene Wood, his mother Elsie Marie Kindlund Wood, and his sister Anna Kathleen Wood Lange.
Eric is survived by his wife Ann Adel Byron Wood, his daughter Rebecca Ann Wood Wyatt and her husband John William Wyatt, his daughter Bonnie Kathleen Wood Dreitner, granddaughter Allison Rebecca Wyatt and her husband Alex Duff.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family of Eric Eugene Wood wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of the Memory Care unit at Isle of Watercrest and Vitas Hospice.
