Mother Ethel Pratt's Obituary
Ethel Perry Pratt was born January 25, 1926 to the parents of Oscar and Laura Perry in Frisco Texas. She was 1 of 6 children. Ethel was the last surviving African American, born in Frisco, raised in Frisco and resided in Frisco until her demise.
On April 1, 1944, she married the love of her life, Freddie Pratt in Yuma Arizona. With Freddie, they receive their greatest blessings of having 8 beautiful children. She loved and cherished them with all of her heart.
Ethel enjoyed gardening, baking and most of all going to church. Ethel accepted Christ In 1955, while driving down highway 121. She heard the voice of The Lord say “ Ethel, you need to be saved?” She said “ Yes Lord” and at that moment she gave her life To Christ. She exalted from Ethel, to Missionary, Evangelist, Prophet, Minster, Mighty Woman of God and had the gift of Laying hands. Sis Pratt often shared this wonderful news with many, throughout the years. She was the best wife, mother and spiritual advisor that you would ever meet. The Holy Spirit was felt when she was in your presence. She knew her Bible front to back. Ethel was loved and respected by her family and community and will be truly be missed.
She was proceeded in death by both parents, her siblings, husband, Freddie Pratt, daughter, Shirley Woods, son’s Carl Pratt and Michael Pratt, 2 grandchildren , Tony Brown and Metric Pratt , and 2 great grandchildren, Shanbricka Pratt and Latrodra Pratt.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Tommy ( Ann) Pratt, Dianne Pratt-Polk, Billy (Liz) Pratt, Norvelle (Don) Pratt-Curry, and Joyce Pratt-King, 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 31 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
