Evelyn was a loving wife of 68 years to Richard Christie and a proud mother of Christine McCall, Allison Dale (Patrick Dale) and Carole Cocagne (Andy Cocagne). She was blessed with six grandchildren, Sarah Warren (David Warren), Meghan Anderson (Steve Anderson), Kelley McCall, Richard Dale (Ahtoosa Dale), Matthew Cocagne and Natalie Cocagne. Evelyn was born on November 8, 1930 in Detroit just a few years after her parents immigrated from Germany and married in the USA. She was the oldest of three children raised during the difficult times of the Great Depression. In the summer of 1948, she met Richard Christie on a Great Lakes cruise ship. They later married on December 29, 1951. She moved with Richard to Fort Benning, Georgia where her eldest daughter Christine was born. In 1953 they returned to Michigan where Allison and Carole were born.
After Richard retired from Michigan Bell, they moved to Howell, Mi where they lived for over 30 years before moving to Texas in 2018. Evelyn enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Evelyn had an infectious smile! When meeting someone new, she immediately established a warm bond and drew them into a friendly conversation. To Evelyn, every person had personal worth. Everyone she knew will always remember her wonderful hugs.
