Gill Cooksie's Obituary
Gill Cooksie was born September 5, 1951 to Mr. Guilford Cooksie Senior and Mrs. Mamie ( Woods) Cooksie in Rural Hunt County, Texas. He attended Wolf City ISD and continued his future as a Marine in the Vietnam war. Following the war, he continued his education at the University of Texas and Bishop College.
He enjoyed various careers. His passion for the Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys (Americans Team) brought him immense joy, alongside his career highlights at Rangers Ballpark and AT&T Cowboys Stadium. If he wasn’t watching sports, he had his chef hat on cooking in the kitchen. Gill was a faithful and loving husband, father, and paw-paw. After a lengthy illness he departed this life on April 8, 2024 to enter eternal life with Jesus. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Dianna Cooksie, children Jonathan Cooksie and Gabrielle (Cooksie) Patterson and husband Drew Patterson, and his grandchildren, Markayla Wilks, Xiah Cooksie, Zari Cooksie, Daniel Patterson, Eva Patterson, Journie Cooksie, and Eden Patterson. He had one sister, Sheryl Lewis and her children Robert Lewis, Krystal (Lewis) Jones and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
