Ms. Girtha Lee McDonald's Obituary
Girtha Lee McDonald was born March 8, 1947, in Ringgold, Louisiana to KP and Alice McDonald both from Ringgold, Louisiana. She attended CH Ironing High School in Benton, Louisiana now known as Benton High School. She was a devoted child of God who faithfully fellowshipped at Shady Grove #2 under the leadership of Pastor AG Sudds, she served on the Usher Board and was a member of the choir. Girtha devoted numerous years to Doctor’s Hospital before retiring in 2007. Following her retirement, she relocated to Texas where she continued her Christian journey by becoming a member of Koinonia Christian Church. She dedicated her time to serving on the User Board, volunteering in the nursery and being an active member of the Silver Saints Ministry.
Birtha, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 78.
She was proceeded in death by both of her parents, KP and Alice McDonald, her sisters Rose Mae McDonald and Gustavia Roote, her brothers L.C. McDonald, James McDonald, Roy Lee McDonald, Lee Arthur McDonald, daughter Angela Dixon, granddaughter LaTausha Dixon, grandson Caleb Oden, nephew Ernest Brooks.
She has 1 surviving sister, Georgetta Thomas. Girtha leaves to cherish 3 loving children, Deborah Dixon, Donald Ray McDonald (Lana), and Pastor Ronnie Goines. She also leaves behind 15 wonderful grandkids, Demetrius (Alisha) DeMario (Quiara) Sharondayln (Aaron) Aramis (Jessie) Quinton (Kelly) Noah, Luke, Daniel, Tyre, Alexis, Donaven, Michael, Izaiah. 14 wonderful great grandkids, Raven, Jaylen, Rayna, Kameren, Klaire-Marie, Kacey, Demetrius Jr., Devin, Kiara, Anakin, Paisley, Jerdaya, Zaya, Nora and a host of other relatives and friends.
