Gloria Dean Nicely's Obituary
Gloria Dean Nicely was born on August 22, 1944, to Ulcese Colston Sr. and Agnes Lang-Colston. She grew up in Ennis, Texas; graduating from Doris Miller High School in Ennis, Texas. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Bright and Morning Baptist Church. After moving to Dallas, she was a member of Christ Trinity Baptist Church and subsequently First Peter Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she rededicated her life to Christ in 2008 when she joined Friendship West Baptist Church.
In her early life, she worked as a nurse’s aide and assembly line technician and later in life as a home health worker. She later married Charles Nicely.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. Although she didn’t mind telling you exactly what was on her mind, she had a great sense of humor, and a big heart. She was a great cook and enjoyed listening to music and watching western shows and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Horace Ray Colston and Sammie Colston, and sister Linda Colston- Adebanjo. She leaves to cherish her memories: 3 sons, Rodney Colston (Beverlei), Brent Colston (Yvette “Nikki”), and Theron Colston (Chanelle); 7 grandchildren Rodney Colston Jr. (“RJ”), Ryan Colston, Richelle Colston, Alvin Colston, Brendon Colston, Theron Colston Jr., Ulcese Colston, Emmitt Colston; and 6 great grandchildren; siblings Gwendolyn Colston-Kennedy (LeRoy), Ulcese “Cody” Colston Jr., Shelia Runnels-Moss (Sammy), Andria Michelle Evans, Angela Washington-Woods (Morris), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
