Gordon traveled all over the world. Wherever he lived he always donated to a local food bank each month. If you prefer - In his honor you may donate to a local food bank in lieu flowers. Either action is greatly appreciated by the family.
Gordon Joseph Akinsoji Akinpelu was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 6, 1977 and died in Mexico City, Mexico on November 16, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Joseph Goodson, Grandmothers-Priscilla Goodson and Maria Akinpelu, Aunt-Mercy Ishola, Uncle-Haward Massingill, and Cousin-Taiye Ishola
He leaves behind his Father-Enoch Akinpelu of Euless, Texas, Mother- Denise Akinpelu of Mansfield Texas, Sisters- Olivia Akinpelu of Dallas, Texas and Victoria Akinpelu of Aubrey,Texas, Aunt -Patrinella Bourdeaux of Cedar Hill, Texas.
Cousins-Tokunbo Ishola of London, England, Adrienne Donahue of Kalispell, Montana, Cacedra Jordon of Del Rio, Texas, Amanda Haney of Chinook, Montana, Ronnie Strunk of Boston, Massachusetts, Madison Katka of Great Falls, Montana, and Brande Keith of Dallas, Texas.
He also leaves behind a host of special aunts, uncles, family and friends.
Gordon graduated from Martin High School in Arlington, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington and received a Bachelor of Business Administration with Marketing Concentration.
Gordon was very creative. He wrote and published several books. He enjoyed drawing, painting, and videography. His sense of humor and perspective on life was a catalyst for his work.
He loved travel and visited up to 21 countries, covering North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. It could have been more, but some countries and cities he could not help returning to over and over again...for example, he visited Paris, France NINE TIMES!
He fulfilled a lifetime desire to live in another country when he moved to Mexico City , Mexico in December 2024.
He lived his life to the fullest!!
