Mr. Harney Elihu Hooper Jr.'s Obituary
Harney Elihu Hooper, Jr., age 80, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Mansfield, Texas. Formerly of Luling, Louisiana where he lived for 50 plus years. He loved God, his family, and playing chess.
He was a graduate of Behrman High School and received his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1960 from Louisiana State University.
Mr. Hooper was an innovative entrepreneur and businessman, having developed and owned the Boutte Ace Lumber Company and Kellogg Land Company. He also proudly served on the St.Charles Parish School Board and was President of the St.Charles Parish Police Jury.
He is survived by his two sisters, Jean Royer & Sylvia Hollabaugh, Daughters Gaylynn Hines & Lydia Lingle, son Wade Hooper and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
His final resting place will be in Mount Hermon, Louisiana with his beloved parents, Harney Elihu Hooper, Sr. and Annie Louise Valliant Hooper, who preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., on August 11, at the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Hermon, Louisiana.
