Janice passed peacefully May 13, 2023, after battling cancer. She is survived by her brother Clarence. She attended public schools in Lufkin, Texas, graduating from Lufkin Dunbar High School. She earned a Bachelor of Music and Mas Read Obituary
I worked with Dr. Franklin for 5 years in the early 2000s. Dr. Franklin's impact on my worldview and thought processes was far-reaching and still, to this day, influential. I remember so many conversations we had from 20 years ago. She definitely left her fingerprint on my soul. I'm so blessed that our world's collided, even for the briefest of moments. I will never forget her or her words that challenged me to think beyond what I was conditioned to believe.

I met Janice at the Performing Artist Musical Theatre Conservatory and the first thing she greeted me with was her smile. Her big, open, sparkly smile. Janice will live on, in each of us through the love and joy she planted in all of us. 🙏❤️🙏
I just found out that you are no longer with us. I wish we would have visited. I wish we had more time. You were the best musical theater instructor I ever had and I will always cherish the memories at Mountain View Community College. I love you. I miss you.
