Jonathan Anthony Summers' Obituary
Jonathan Anthony Summers, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend departed for heaven into the eternal presence of God on June 23, 2024. Jonathan was born to Priscilla and Merlin Summers in Rochester, New York on January 19, 1985.
Jonathan was a bright, intelligent and hard working young man. He graduated as an honors student from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School in Detroit, Michigan, where he also played varsity football. He matriculated to college and graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a degree in Finance.
Jonathan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in March 2010. He loved cars, motorcycles, sports (especially the New Orleans Saints football team), and video games. Jonathan had a kind and compassionate heart. He maintained many of the friendships he developed over his lifetime. Jonathan had the greatest rapport with and respect for his business colleagues. He made a huge impact on those around him.
After college, Jonathan moved to Chicago, Illinois and found the love of his life, Lora Lee. He asked Lora’s father for her hand in marriage. Jonathan recalled the romantic proposal in Wisconsin while sweating profusely! They married in May 2010. Lora and Jonathan loved to travel together and spent many vacations on cruises. Three years later, they purchased their first home in the Chicago suburbs and added to their family, four beautiful daughters; Abigail and Addison (twins) and Alexandria and Autumn. The family later relocated and built a home in Mansfield, Texas in 2019.
Jonathan was a devoted family man. Lora, Abigail, Addison, Alexandria and Autumn are the loves of his life. Everything revolved around them with his love and attention. He is crazy about his girls and they are crazy about him. He loved being a “girl Dad”.
Jonathan Anthony Summers – leaves a legacy of love, integrity and kindness along with a life abundant in accomplishments and relationships.
Jonathan leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lora, and his children, Abigail, Addison, Alexandria, Autumn; his parents, Priscilla Miller Summers and Merlin Summers; mother in law, Rebekah Valentine, his brothers, Michael Summers and Christopher Summers; and uncles, Pastor Gerald T. Miller (Diane), Minister Anthony Miller (Daune), Darryl Summers, John and John Summers, cousins Gerald Marshall (Candace), Anthony Miller, Jr., Kayla Miller (Teddy), Zada Summers, Tenea Thornton, Sean Woods and a myriad of other family and friends.
