Karin Louise Roubideaux's Obituary
Karin L. Roubideaux, aged 81, departed this world on March 4, 2024, in her home in Alvarado, TX. Born to Raymond and Della (Marney) Alexander on July 30, 1942, in McPherson, KS, Karin's early life in Kansas was the prologue to a life rich in creativity, love, and music.
Karin's journey through life was marked by her academic achievements and early professional endeavors; she graduated from Buhler High School in 1960 and went on to earn a BA in Early Child Development from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, in 1964. Her university years were also enriched by her membership in a sorority, fostering lifelong friendships and a deep sense of community.
Her career path was as varied as it was fulfilling. Initially working for Cessna in purchasing, Karin's entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found a restaurant with her then-husband Dean Brigman. She later returned to Cessna, which had merged with Eaton, to work in insurance—a role that introduced her to Robert Roubideaux, whom she would marry. Together, they ventured into the realm of property management, their joyful partnership enduring for 32 years until Robert's passing.
Beyond her professional life, Karin was a vibrant fixture in her community. Her involvement in church, Mainstage Classical Theatre, Sweet Adelines, and the Texas Traditions Choir not only showcased her immense love for music and the arts but also allowed her to forge cherished friendships. Her creative spirit found expression not just in music but in crafting, woodworking, and home repairs, echoing the lessons learned from her father and embodying her resourceful, resilient nature.
Karin's family was the cornerstone of her life. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and inspiration. She is survived by her sons, Brent Brigman (Michelle) and their daughter Brenna, of Mansfield, TX; Brady Brigman of Kingman, KS; her grandchildren, Jordan, Braden (great-granddaughter, Maddilyn Marie Brigman), and Jaden Brigman of Mesa, AZ; her sister, Judy Hageman of McPherson, KS; nephew Aaron Budge, and niece Shana Carbajal of Newton, KS. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Della Alexander, and her young children, Bradley Brigman and KarlaDeann Brigman.
To honor Karin's memory, two celebration of life services are scheduled. The first will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 6 pm at First Methodist Mansfield, 777 North Walnut Creek, Mansfield, TX 76063. The second service, including the scattering of her ashes, will take place in Hutchinson, Kansas, at a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to any of the following organizations dear to Karin's heart:
