Kathleen Mary Helms' Obituary
Kathleen Mary Helms of Burleson, Texas passed away on April 4, 2022 at the age of 57 after heart complications. To family and friends, she was Kathy. Kathy is survived by her husband of 34 years Donald Wayne Helms. Kathy has a son, Nicholas Wayne Helms. Her strong spirit is deeply missed by her family and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Barbara Traynor. Kathy’s siblings include Barbara Simmons - Geneva, OH, Patty Traynor – Stilwell, OK, Robert Traynor – Aransas Pass, TX, Margaret Ledford – Ingleside, TX, Maureen Overbeck – Coppell, TX and and John Traynor - Aransas Pass, TX. Kathy’s maternal nieces and nephews in Texas include Jennifer Ledford, Justin Ledford, Nicole Kolkmeier, and Abigail Traynor. Kathleen also has nieces, nephews and cousins around the USA.
Many close to her see irony in Kathy’s manner of death, since she had a huge heart in a shell of steel. Siblings routinely turned to Kathy for advice and prayer with her strong faith in God. Kathy is remembered as a compassionate nurse; she had a loving passion for helping others. Kathy was known to buy small gifts for siblings for no special occasion. She was generous with her time to family. One of Kathy’s hobbies included growing irises, which she shared with Donnie. A memorial service for Kathy Helms has not been decided as of this posting.
