Keiko Yohen Cerna's Obituary
Keiko Cerna was a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones in Arlington, Texas, on June 26, 2024 at the age of 70. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Keiko was born to Eizan and Umeko Yohen on June 15, 1954, in Okinawa, Japan. In 1990, she moved to San Bernardino, California, where she met the love of her life, Dietrich Cerna. Together, they had 2 lovely daughters: Jennifer and Justine.
Keiko was a beautiful, intelligent, caring, humble, and humorous woman who always made sure others were taken care of. She stood up to the challenge of raising two daughters as a military spouse assuming the roles of both mother and father during Dietrich’s long deployments in times of war. She always advocated for what was right and refused to let injustices go uncorrected.
Keiko is survived by her dedicated husband, Dietrich Cerna, and her two loving daughters, Jennifer Mandelbaum and Justine Cerna.
Keiko will be honored in a Celebration of Life ceremony on July 2, 2024. Visiting hours are from 5 - 7 PM. She will be buried at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 9 AM on July 3, 2024.
