LaDoria Shaw's Obituary
LaDoria was born on January 20, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Bishop Birlon Washington Sr. and Martha Washington.
She and her family would later move to Amarillo Texas, where she spent most of her young adult life. She was raised in church, and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. However, after surviving a life-threatening challenge at an early age, she was told by doctors that she would never be able to have any children. But because of her faith in God and her families' faith in God, she later gave birth to two sons.
In 1973, LaDoria married the love of her life, Ray A. Shaw, and relocated to Oklahoma City. There she worked at AT&T for over 20 years and later retired at an early age, as a well loved and respected union representative.
LaDoria was a longtime active church member of New Union Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she received her spiritual support after the passing of her husband.
In the year of 2021 she was hospitalized due to health complications which caused her heart to stop for approximately 24 minutes, before she was resuscitated. She was truly a walking miracle. And by God's grace, she would live on for more years, fully embracing life, family and the nickname 'sister momma", which was given to her by her youngest sibling. She loved to take care of her friends and family; and surely, she was fortunate to have friends and family to take care of her. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in life by her husband Ray Shaw of 49 years Both of her parents, her older brother George, and older sister Julia and 3 infant siblings. Continuing her legacy, she leaves to cherish her memories to her two sons, Anthony T. Shaw (Shaneka) and Carlo D. Shaw; 10 grandchildren, BreAuna, Turan, Cawon, Destiney, Brandan, Keylan, Devon, Zavion Ma'Rion, and Marshae. Her Aunt Rose Duffie (Aunt Sweet), and her 7 sisters Loretta, Wanda, Cassie (Kalor), Donna, Penny (Howard), Candy (Craig) and Jurea. Her 3 brothers Birlon Jr., Joel (Teresa), Ray (Lupe). Her 33 nieces and nephews, and 97 great nieces and nephews, (Special Friend) Juanita Green. Her extended family, The Shaw's; and a host of other relatives and friends
