Lisa Dianne Sanders' Obituary
Lisa Dianne Sanders, age 56, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Born on September 8, 1968, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to Tom Sanders Jr. and Lillie Mae (Wright) Sanders. Lisa lived a life marked by compassion, joy, and unwavering faith.
Lisa was a proud alumna of Ripley High School Class of 1986 and went on to graduate from Tennessee Technology Center in Covington as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her career spanned over three decades of dedicated bedside nursing care from Tennessee, to Colorado and Texas-a true ministry of service that touched countless lives. Her commitment to healing and helping others was not just a profession but a calling she fulfilled with grace and strength.
From an early age, Lisa professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved the Lord deeply and believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer. In her youth, she was an active member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Ripley, Tennessee, where she served as Youth Choir Director, led songs with spirit-filled joy, and participated on the Usher Board. Later in life, she attended Lake Providence Baptist Church, Nashville, TN serving as an usher and presently attended Friendship West Baptist Church, Dallas, TX
Lisa's vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. Known for her charismatic energy and infectious humor, she was remembered fondly as the life of her high school graduating class. Whether through jokes or animated gestures, Lisa had a gift for making people laugh and lifting spirits. She found strength and joy in the presence of family and friends-gatherings filled with music and dancing were among her favorite moments.
Above all else, Lisa cherished her role as a grandmother. Her face would light up at the mere mention of her grandchildren's names; Aryana, Olivia, Carter, London and Jaxon
She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Lillie Sanders; her children: Pierre (Caitlin) Sanders of Colorado Springs, CO; and Mia Washington of Grand Prairie, TX;five beloved grandchildren; three sisters: Sheltonia (Whit) Polk of Arlington, TX; Sandra Anita Sanders of New Braunfels, TX; Amelia (Shunkeith) Nelson of LaVergne, TN; one brother: Tom Sanders III of Grand Prairie, TX; A few special people; Uncle Clyde Wright Sr, three cousins she loved as brothers: Kelly, Casey, and Tyrus Wright Jr along with two sister-friends: Dionne and Leslie; She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, a host of other cousins, extended family members, friends, and classmates who will miss her dearly.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Tom Sanders Jr., and her brother Clifford Ray Sanders.
Her final arrangements have been entrusted to Mansfield Funeral Home and Cremations in Mansfield, Texas.
