Mike P. Taylor, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday May 27, 2017. His celebration of life will take place at Mansfield Funeral Home at 10 am on Saturday June 10, 2017. Mike was born on September 30, 1946 in McKinney, Texas. H Read Obituary
Mike was my friend. He was my mentor at Bell Helicopter. He took my under his wing in 1987. He taught me, he led me, and he protected me when I made mistakes. Mike was one of the Bell "Icons" who made Bell Helicopter great. When it came to building helicopters and making sure that they were safe for our customers Mike was one of the most serious, most passionate, and most knowledgeable employees that Bell ever had the honor of employing.
Mike was also one of the "Great Pranksters" of Bell and I was one of his favorite 'victims'. We and anyone who worked within our area shared many, many laughs because of his sense of humor. I will miss you my dear friend.

Mike and I were teammates and roommates at Temple Junior College. I have many memories of our time there. Mike was also a high jumper on the track team and he could leap out of the gym. I regret we didn't stay in touch over the years. I recognized him from the picture above as he has not changed much from his college days. Always a handsome guy who gave me good dating advice and encouraged me on my quest to dunk the ball as he easily did.

I want Mike's family to know that we had a lot of fun working together at Bell. Mike was a great friend and co-worker. He had a good sense of humor. He nicknamed me "crash" due to all of the skinned places on my head from bumping into things. He made me a helmet and stuck (Crash Harris) on it. He got a big kick out of that. I will miss him very much.
Mike and I shared a lot of good memories during our employment at Bell Helicopter. We worked together as Inspectors, Inspection Supervisors and lastly as Supplier Product Assurance Representatives. Mike was a good friend and a good man who always believed that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing right. He will be sorely missed.
