Ms. Cavazos was my spanish teacher at DeSoto highschool, me and her were actually quite close. We used to make eachother laugh and even talk about personal issues at times and just share parts of our lives. We were only 7 years apart which was crazy to think about at times. She made my day every day seeing her in the morning. She understood if i was going through anything and she would respectfully give me advice or space. She taught with such love and care. And she made her classroom so fun and comfortable to be in. Every time we had class we were having a great time with all the students. I really can say she has been my favorite teacher of all my years in school. She has inspired me to be happier in life and live to the fullest. I will sincerely and mourningfully miss her so much. Any time I walk by her classroom now i will always remember her. From shouting goofy spanish words at eachother to watching cheesy movies in class, this year was so great with her. The hardest part was knowing that she couldn't make it to see our last day of school. Rest in peace Paloma, you gave me an amazing Junior year of high school. I will forever remember you and dearly miss you.

Paloma was a treasure as a student. Unfailingly kind, her smile lit and warmed the room. I was so proud of her at AHS, and thanks to the wonders of FB, I was so proud of the woman she became. Her letter in support of the DACA Dreamers embodies the Paloma I cherished. She was a helper, and the world is a better place thanks to her presence.
I had the honor of working with her at DeSoto High, such a great spirit. God bless and continued comfort for the entire family. -Mrs. Lampkin-Murray
She was such a great person with a great spirit. She will definitely be missed within our facility. You are in our prayers from DHS Library Staff!
