Patsy Jo Briley's Obituary
With sadness and love we announce the passing of Patsy Jo Briley, age 76, of Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away in her home on June 15, 2026.
Born on November 2, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, to James Keith Briley, Sr., and Loulie Ardine Briley, she was an eager learner. Patsy graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the North Texas State University and a master'sdegree from Texas Christian University. In her younger years, Patsy worked with special needs adults and loved them well. In her later years she worked in the oil industry as a Senior Engineering Technician and enjoyed her time with her colleagues, many of whom remained lifelong friends.
In retirement she continued to learn and grow in teaching at the YMCA and participating with TCU “Silver Frogs.” Patsy enjoyed appreciating art and theatre, searching for hidden treasures in antique shops, gardening for long hours, showering her beloved pets with joyful attention, and listening to music throughout the day. She will be remembered for her love for animals, beautiful yard, keen curiosity, generosity, and love of laughter.
She is survived by family members, her sister Lou Tippin and her husband Larry Tippin, Sr., their children Gina Koch and Larry Tippin, Jr., her sister Mary Barnes and her husband Richard Barnes and their children Stephen Barnes and Philip Barnes, and many nephew and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents James Keith Briley, Sr., and Loulie ArdineBriley, and her brother, James Keith Briley, Jr., and sister-in-law Bobbie Briley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Mansfield Funeral Home, 1556 Heritage Pkwy, Mansfield, TX 76063. In lieu of flowers, Patsy asked us to make donations to the ASPCA (https://aspca.org
